What is it all about?

Mission of the position:
The Business Development & Migrations Manager is responsible for all global projects, migrations and for business development within respective End-to-End processes in scope (incl. HtR, StP, BtR, QtC, IT, Controlling) from Client to the GSS throughout the complete cycle of preparation, transition, and stabilization phase, on Global level & including Region EMEA.
On the regional level, the Business Development & Migrations Manager drives the detailed planning, coordination of teams and execution of all activities relating to transitioning of the processes in scope and cooperate closely with the involved work streams and departments. The role requires to monitor the progress, quality and the risks in respect to the migration.
On the global level, the Business Development & Migrations Manager coordinates the migrations running in GSS regions and acts as the single point of contact for potential future migrations.
Besides the responsibility for migrations into GSS, also the development of new business ideas and the generation of additional services together with internal customers is in scope of this position.
To successfully implement such businesses, benchmark information from the Service industry and inensiv personal contacts to potential new internal customers is key. Bringing such ideas into a business case and convincing the respective managemt is also an important part of this job.


EMEA Regional Scope:
Migration and Project Management:
  • Supports EMEA Center Operation Lead in developing and implementing the regional center strategy in accordance to Global GSS strategy.
  • Drives and executes the migration strategy and activities with the support of a local transition team / experts in each center
  • Supports the GSS operations in designing on-time the receiving organization and monitor the adequate staffing and qualification of the future functional team in the migration phase in alignment with the POLs. Consults the retiring company in planning the adequate organizational interfaces and related requirements in alignment with Global Strategy
  • Plans task allocation to resources and set priorities
  • Implements risk mitigation actions to assure a smooth on time migration of processes in scope
  • Collaborates with regional GSS management team to clarify interfaces to GSS-owned activities and ensure organized hand-over of remaining responsibilities during/ after stabilization
  • Formulates overall approach for all projects in the Region for all End-to-End processes
  • Creates and sign-off the wave migration plan for each of the transition waves and on-going monitoring. Adapt migration approach to changing conditions and requirements.

Global Scope:
Migration and Project Management:
  • Supports Global Head of GSS in developing and implementing the GSS strategy
  • Definition and driving of business development opportunities for regional expansion, additional functional services or higher services along functional value chains;
  • Developing Global Shared Services as platform for organizational flexibility (portfolio management, M&A) and also profitable growth and digitalization strategies
  • Formulates overall approach for all global projects for all End-to-End processes
  • Drives and executes the migration strategy and activities with the support of a regional transition team / experts in each center
  • Consults the retiring company in planning the adequate organizational interfaces and related requirements
  • Plans task allocation to resources and set priorities
  • Reports migration status and risks to the Global Head of GSS on a regular basis (weekly, monthly), based on updated detailed plans
  • Executes migration plan and coordinate adjustments. Ensures that requirements for a successful transition planning and migration are fulfilled (e.g. knowledge transfer).
  • Supports knowledge transfer and manage GSS resources and affected local resources during knowledge transfer
  • Provides operational interface for project internal communication and alignment (service management, recruiting, training)

Who are you?

  • 3+ years in shared services regional/global responsibility or project overlap
  • 3+ years working within service
  • Experience with PROJECT/PROCESS TRANSITION WORK is a must
Advantage: Good understanding of StP, QtC, HtR, BtR, IT, CON processes
Advantage: Desirable: Working experience in products industry (Business to Customer)
Advantage: Experience in Quality programs / process improvement

Advantage: Experience of Startups / setting up customer service organizations

  • Master degree in Business / Finance / Accounting or CPA (or equivalent professional experience)
